Review of Deni 4650 Battery Operated Cookie Press

I'm new to baking cookies; and I've never owned a cookie press before; so have nothing to compare this product with. I admit to great confusion when reading reviews of all the different products. But when I read the directions, my reaction was a cautious, "Well, let's see."I used the double lemon cookie recipe that came with the cookie press, figuring that it would be the right texture and thickness for this gadget, then I could gauge other recipes against it for appropriateness. The press was easy to use.I think it took me two cookies to understand how long to hold the lever down for the right size cookies, and they all came out beautifully.Besides pretty, the recipe was delicious. It comes with two sizes of multiple pattern cookie discs as well as decorating tips for frosting, and two different sizes of dough barrels. The last few teaspoons of dough in the barrel don't shoot out.I removed this remaining dough and made balls that I then pressed with a fork, as with peanut butter cookies, so as not to waste the batter. It was easy to use and clean, fun, and worked well.I'm now on a quest for more spritz cookie recipes and looking forward to lots of holiday baking!
