An avid home cook that is a collector of both cookbooks and cooking gadgets writes this review.I have to say I love these tongs.After purchasing the first pair, I found that I used them everyday and I bought a second pair. This product is now a must have in my kitchen.I have summarized my observations of this product below:Pros:
1.Can be used in non-stick, stainless, cast iron and enameled cast iron pan and has not melted in more than 2 years of everyday use.
2.Easy to lock closed by pulling out the end (where the ring is located)
3.Hangs on a utensil rack easily
4.Can be stored on the oven handle (this is where mine usually are)
5.Firmly grips food with very little effort (almost like using your hands)
6.Since it locks closed it is easy to store
7.Easy to clean
Cons:
1.I can't think of one, and this might be a first
Overall I cannot recommend this product strongly enough.I do use these every single time I cook.They are great for everything and anything.I use them to turn meats, flip vegetables on a cast iron grill pan, remove quesadillas from a skillet, plate dishes, move foods between breading stations, flip panini in a grill pan, and much, much more. I used the Calphalon tongs prior to these.I find these to be much easier to use because they require less pressure to grasp the food.I highly recommend these tongs.
