I would just like to point out that for the same price as this lid, you can get the 12-inch "everyday pan" which comes with an anodized aluminum lid that is higher arched than this one, and weighs slightly less.So not only do you get a better lid for the price, which fits your Calphalon saute pan, but you get a nice extra pan to boot!

Review of Le Creuset 6 3/4 Quart French Ovens

I agree with the other reviews on the quality, beauty etc.I will concentrate my review on the size of this pot as I had a lot of trouble deciding on size when I was making my purchase.

Le Creusets are good at many things but IMHO the biggest reason for getting one is for its ability to cook gently and slowly over a longer period of time.This lets the flavors of your dish mix together beautifully and I have found more dimensions of taste when I cook this way.It's also very good for searing meats and then slowly cooking it until it literally falls off the bone.So the reason I got a Le Creuset oven is to make stews, pasta sauces, soups, and roasts.

The 6.75 quart, oval oven fulfilled my needs perfectly and I have found this size and shape to be quite versatile.I cook for just my husband and myself, but like many people today we both work so I like to make larger portions and freeze half.This pot will fit a double or even a triple recipe for spaghetti sauces and the like.The oval shape allows a rectangular roast or whole chicken or two smaller hens to fit inside.If you're having friends over for dinner and want to make a bigger roast for 4-8 people, chili for a crowd, etc., this is the perfect size to have.

Some people had told me to get a round one if I do mostly stove top cooking, in order to have more even heat distribution from the round burner.I have found that the heat distributes very evenly on the oval shape, so I prefer the oval because it is a better shape for roasts.

Assuming you already have other pots and pans, and are looking to finally add a Le Creuset to your kitchen, IMO this is a very good size/shape to have.

Review of Farberware Affiniti 12 Piece Cookware Set with Bonus Griddle

Products were in nearly perfect condition. The 10 inch pan was a little oblong shaped instead of circular. Wasn't sure if this was on purpose or not. Sent a message to the retailer, no response yet. I LOVE the non-stick of these pots and pans. For anyone who thinks theirs is good, they should see these.

Review of Joyce Chen J22-0030 Pro Chef 12 Inch Peking Pan with Excalibur Non-stick coating

I bought this pan about 6 years ago. I have used it almost every day making stir fry, soup, spaghetti, sauces, searing meat, EVERYTHING! It heats up fast, and the non-stick surface is almost indestructable. It's the perfect size for doing just about everything. As for the previous comment about the weight, it's 2mm steel alloy. It's actually lighter then most of the cast iron wok's I've used. And if cleaned immediately after every use, I've never had a problem with the non-stick surface. This is a fantastic pan!

Review of Berndes SignoCast 10-Piece Cast-Aluminum Cookware Set

I've been looking for a good cookware set for a long time.Tried the 'bargain' stuff, and they didn't last.Even bought the Wolfgang Puck cookware set ... and the rivets that hold the handles on corroded with use on th inside of the pan ... and the food kept sticking to the pans making them a chore to clean.

Well ... I broke down and bought the Berndes SignoCast 10-piece set ... and I'm in heaven.There really isn't anything NOT to like about this cookware.It's light, it's got the Dupont Autograph 2 non-stick teflon coating (with no handle rivets inside) ... and it even looks nice.It even cooks well at lower temperatures, which is better for taste and keeping in the nutrients.

Made in Germany ... this is very high quality cookware with a lifetime warranty. I will never buy the stuff made in China ... ever again.I like it even more than the few Calphalon pieces I own.I wish I would have known of this brand before ... as it seems this set is going to last me the rest of my life.

Review of Fagor 4-Piece 8-Quart Multipot

It appears that the pasta insert is deep enough to be covered with approximately 4-quarts of water. That is plenty for a large family pasta feast.The reason I rated this 4-stars rather than 5 is that I normally cook thin spaghetti and where I would prefer a 2" solid band around the bottom of the pasta insert (to butt the dry pasta against), there are more draining holes.This means some of the pasta will try to escape through the draining holes, especially if you follow the Fagor cooking directions and place the insert already loaded with dry pasta into the boiling water.

This Chinese manufactured pan was deeply embossed on the underside and indicated the pan may be used for induction cooking.At $21.95, I am going to order several more as (super economy sized) stocking stuffers!:o)

Review of Simply Calphalon Stainless Multipot

I bought this set to replace another pot of similar size. I figured that this would be a great deal - it's got inserts and it's from Calphalon at a great price too. The tempered glass cover fits well and is helpful because you can see inside without removing the cover although it spits when the pot is at a full and rapid boil. It's a stainless steel piece so it's not dark when you look inside like many other Calphalon pieces. The aluminum bottom is not the same as on their commercial or professional lines. It's a heavy-duty aluminum bottom attached to a stainless steel pot. Even though the pot along with the bottom is thicker and heavier than most other lines that do the same, it did not heat up like other Calphalon pieces that I own. Still, I cooked a stew at a slow simmer for six hours and it didn't burn at the bottom. A good thing.

This is the first time that I have inserts like these and I don't think much of the big insert. To cook pasta or food, you need to add an additional 2 quarts of water (the amount needed to touch the bottom of the insert) making it more time consuming to use. I will cook my pasta without the insert and may use the insert as a colander/drainer. The small insert is useful because you can steam items while boiling pasta or other items

All in all, a good pot not a great one at a great price.

I bought this product through Amazon after shopping eBay and finding higher prices on the same exact item.The hardware was all included and it looks very nice.It's very heavy duty and functional and I was very pleased with the appearance and functionality.I am a Pampered Chef consultant and I love knowing that my expensive professional cookware is safe from scratches and the glass lids I store above the grid.Now I just need to figure out where to get Extra Hooks for this model, and I would be very pleased.I highly recommend this item.

UPDATE: After 2.5 years, the product is still as great as when we bought it.It looks nice, is functional, etc.We love it.

This is a great dispenser!It holds a lot & yet is fairly small space wise.It's great for all kinds of snacks...pistachios, almonds, m&m's etc., it's great if you want portion control but also great if don't!You can spin once or keep spinning til your happy :-) we do put a little bowl underneath it to catch the almond salt & we did that for pistachio's also (we bought black so it looks messy if you don't) but that also works good for taking the bowl to the couch ;-) I'm not sure if we'll need the bowl for things like m&m's (we'll see) but overall, we are very satisfied! Oh yea, it also comes apart nicely for cleaning!!

My wife and I received the pans in this set for our wedding over 3 years ago.They have been excellent despite very heavy use from us.The non-stick still doesn't stick and there is almost no discoloration.They are very easy to clean because the entire pan is non-stick, not just the inside.The silicon on the handle does an excellent job of protecting your hand from being burnt even at high temperatures.

The only problem we've had is that on a few of the pans the silicon part of the handle came loose.I submitted a request to their customer service department on the web and had brand new pans within a week at no cost to me.

We were reluctant to spend the money on this french oven but it was worth every penny.It heats up evenly and browns meat beautifully.We use this 5qt. french oven to make great one pot meals (4 servings).Just last night we made braised short ribs that were mouthwatering.We often use this pan on the stove for browning or searing and then transfer the dish to the oven for further cooking.Other times we use it for slow cooking on the stove.Clean up with the pan is super easy.Everything just wipes right out.The pan is really heavy but that's what makes it cook so well.My wife used to hate to cook (I used to be the only cooking enthusiast in the family) but she loves this french oven because all her recipes come out tasting so good.

Review of All Clad Ovenware 10 Inch x 14 Inch Baking Sheet

Some of my happiest childhood memories are of sitting in my grandmother's kitchen watching her make cookies.She always let me lick the bowl when all the batter had been used - that was awfully good.But, not as good as the cookies warm and fresh from the oven.I also remember how she would scrape with her spatula to get remainders of the last batch off the baking sheet before she put on the next.And, truth to tell, some of her cookies were a bit dark on the bottoms.

She would have loved this large All-Clad baking sheet!She would be able toget a good two or three dozen of her drop cookies on one sheet, and when done just a smooth slide of her spatula would take them to a cooling rack.It's never a question of the ones in the center of the sheet being done first as the heat is evenly distributed throughout the surface.

No telling how many hundreds of cookies I've baked on our sheet, and it still looks new.No longer any need to scrub a surface with an abrasive cleaner, as it comes from the dishwasher spick and span.All-Clad is most definitely a favorite in our kitchen!

Review of Berndes SignoCast Classic 7-Quart Stock Pot

Because this is a cast item the base is thick, the top is thick but the walls are thin making this pot much lighter than you would expect. NO RIVETS where the handles are so it is smooth and easy to clean on the inside.

I am a Calphalon One pan lover but hate the rivets on the inside with food sticking to them and scrubbing around them.I am actually looking into a Berndes pan as it just seems a better interior design.

Final note,I know this is just superficial but the design of the nob on the top of the glass lid is mirror like through the lid and it has a really nice look to it.One more cherry on top of an already great design.

This saucepan is made beautifully and cooks like a dream.The only problem I have is that it is relatively heavy and the handle is narrow, so when the pot is full of water and potatoes it is difficult to pick it up with one hand and hold the lid to drain and pour out the water.This was not a problem for me when I used my old anodized aluminum West Bend saucepan.

Review of All-Clad LTD 10-Piece Cookware Set

My wife an I duked it out between Calphalon Commercial Nonstick (now called "Contemporary") which she preferred for its lighter weight and All-Clad which I prefer for its tougher build.We have a bunch of each.The All-Clad stuff is better hands down.It heats quicker and more evenly.It seems to cook requiring lower stove temperatures.The anodized exterior is smoother and of higher quality.The clad stainless interior is exquisite and easy to clean.

This particular set is perfect - the most required pieces.They constitute a complete kitchen set, lacking only, perhaps, a couple of larger pans (12" fry and 5 Qt. Saute are really nice to have).The choice of stainless interior versus nonstick is personal - but I recommend the stainless interior.First of all, the stainless interior is virtually indestructible and will last a lifetime.All-Clad's nonstick interior is the best in the business, but it does wear out.I've had several LTD nonstick pieces for 9 years now.The ones that get a lot of wear are starting to wear out.Nothing is more pathetic than a battleship built All-Clad pan with a frayed nonstick interior.It's like putting fur in a truck bed.Nonstick might be easier to clean up - but the difference is trivial.Maybe you have the intention of cooking with less oil, but the difference between nonstick and LTD's excellent mirror-like stainless interior is also trivial.I find the arguments for nonstick hard to defend.

As for the review that says anodized aluminum exteriors are hard to maintain, she should read the product literature.You clean anodized aluminum with a plastic scrubby (like the 3M green ones) with bleach cleanser (like Ajax or Comet).Just make a paste with the cleanser and power away stains in moments.Anodized aluminum - like all aluminum cannot be dish washed.The phosphates and brightening agents in dishwasher soap with create a chalky powdery rot in the anodized surface.If you are determined to dishwash your cookware you must forget about aluminum and stick to stainless steel.All-Clad makes a great like of stainless cookware - but nothing is prettier than LTD's awesome black.

Review of Calphalon One Infused Anodized 8-1/2-Quart Dutch Oven with Stainless Steel Lid

From full-flame (17,500 btu gas) searing of 12 pound rib roasts to subtly simmered soups to braised red cabbage with apples and bacon, this pan is the best large pan option for cooks fortunate enough to cook on high output ranges. The nicely domed lid assists steaming foods beautifully, and it heats evenly with no hot spots whatsoever. You'll need a big range, this pan has a very large diameter, is rather heavy and takes up a big chunk of real estate, even on my 48" commercial-style rangetop.
Food release is noticeably better than Calphalon Commercial Hard Anodized pans I own (which are still great). I'm not a fan of non-stick pans at all. Exceeding their limited temperature range (low to medium low on high-output gas burners) causes their toxic coatings to rapidly degrade, with the junk ending up in your food. I'm no big health freak, but I'd rather take a few moments to scrub a pan than feed my loved ones potentially toxic waste, thank you!

Review of Progressive International Microwavable Breakfast Sandwich Maker

First of all, the sandwich I just made was super delicious -- second to no chain restaurant's breakfast sandwich. I didn't really know how to make the sandwich because I had never microwaved eggs or bacon. So, I guessed that 2 minutes would be a good amount of time. Turned out perfect. Clean up was much easier than other reviews say. I always clean up before I eat so the bacon juice hadn't solidified -- maybe that's why.

I highly recommend this product to someone looking to start the day right without going to a fatty fast food restaurant like McDonald's. You'll feel great about making your own breakfast, you'll save money, and you'll consume less calories. It's a no-brainer.

Below is how I made my sandwich. I didn't notice many people sharing their routine so I will...

1. Whisked 1 large egg, pepper, salt, and fat free milk
2. Put 1.5 pieces of bacon on top of a paper towel in the sandwich maker
3. Poured the whisked egg into one egg compartment
4. Set the microwave to 2 minutes and started cooking
5. Put muffin in the toaster after 30 seconds or so of the eggs and bacon cooking
6. Placed a slice of cheese, then egg, then bacon in between the muffin
7. Microwaved everything together for 10 seconds
8. Cleaned up for a minute and let the sandwich cool a little
9. Feasted on a delicious breakfast sandwich

The actual cooking time only took about 3 minutes. Total time with preparation and clean up was around 7 minutes.

In the description of this product, it mentions a glass lid. No lid arrive with this pan. Had I known I would be getting a pan with no lid, I would have happily ordered a different pan from a more honest seller. Very upset about this purchase but due to them not shipping to APO addresses and me only now getting the pan after having to have it sent to a relative to send to me, it is not worth the hassle to return it. Do not buy this if you are expecting a lid!

Review of Circulon 16-Inch Rectangular Nonstick Roaster

I bought this recently because of its special price on Amazon.com and its high rating. I purchased it without my wife's knowledge because I had to make a quick decision, so it was a bit dicy about whether or not she would approve.

Well, we used it today (Thanksgiving, 2007) for the very first time. Wow, was it great! It is very sturdy and just the right size to put into a very hot oven without much danger of touching the hot sides of the oven when putting the roaster into or taking it out of the oven. That's because the handles face up on the sides, rather than out, like our previous roaster handles did.

Also, the rack works very well for keeping the turkey off the bottom of the roaster, allowing air flow all the way around the bird. By the way - we roasted a 25.6 lb. turkey, and this roaster had no problem handling it!

The roaster is deep enough to handle any amount of basting/drippings from the meat. Additionally, when we finished with all of the meat and bones, we very easily poured the rest of the grease into a small mouthed jar, without mess. That means that while pouring, the grease did not run down and back on the sides of the roaster, as often happens when pouring liquids out of regular pots and pans.

All in all a very well made non-stick roaster, that is convenient to use, easy to clean and does everything you want a roaster to do (in my humble opinion). I give it 5 stars without reservation or hesitation.

This saucepan is a nice size, not too large and cumbersome and not too small.This allows many items to heat nice and evenly and not boil over if a watchful eye is not kept closely on them and the pan is too small or scald because the pan is too big.The lid fits on with a nice tight seal, it fits even better than my older Farberware pans of this sort.You cannot go wrong with this pan, for sure!The hook on the handle is great if you have a pot rack.This is an added nice feature!The handle is comfortable and stays cool, like on all the other Farberware pans I have.

Review of Le Creuset Stoneware 11-1/2-Inch Oval Dish, Red

One of the best things about using the right tool for the job is that it makes you look like you know what you're doing. The Le Creuset oval dish is like that. Instead of reaching for some two-dollar faux Pyrex dish to cook your mac and cheese in, grab the Le Creuset. That way, you can set it, all crusty and golden, on the dinner table and announce to your family that you're serving them a gratin and they'd darn well better appreciate all your hard work. Who knows? It might provoke you to fiddle with the recipe while you're at it.

On the technical side, this is one good, heavy piece of stoneware, well designed for a long, long life. It's got good solid handles so you're not scrabbling for a grip or constantly dipping your pot holder into the food. It's oven-safe to 500 degrees, microwave safe, freezer safe...probably not totally kid safe so I don't recommend its use as a shield in the neighborhood wars. Anyone who has seen my reviews of other Le Creuset kitchenware will know that I have a real fondness for the cherry red color, but there are some other good choices for the more sedate cook.

I purchased the pressure cooker several month ago.I love it but manytimes I wanted have a normal lid.I did not know it is available until my friend told me.It was very good price too.
I am very glad amazon carries allthe lids and sealing rubber parts.Now, I use as normal pot with this lid and pressure cooker which is great.Only thing I wished that the finish of the rim of lid would more smooth.

This pan is a great addition to any kitchen. It is large enough to make a dozen servings of paella. Review of KitchenAid Gourmet Distinctions Stainless-Steel 12-Inch Nonstick Skillet

I received my new frying pan in damaged condition. It was obvious that the pan was damaged prior to shipping. I notified Amazon, and they immediately had a replacement sent to my home. The pan is great, the tri-layers eliminates cold spots. I would highly recommend this skillet.

Review of Circulon Total Square Griddle - 11"

I was given this griddle as a gift and LOVE it!It stays flat on the stove-top (the corners of my old one lifted off the stove when hot) and it cooks food evenly.Although you shouldn't put this in the dishwasher, food just lifts off of it so it cleans up very quickly and easily.I would recomment this griddle to anyone looking for an even-cooking, easy-to-clean heavy-duty griddle.

this is really great to help store all kinds of things.I have one for my baking pans and one for my lids for my skillets and pots, including glass dishes that i bake in.I even have some cookbooks stored in there to keep them handy.
