
They do not hold onto marinades well, which is expected, and they do more of a "moving" action instead of a "brushing" action. If you happen to have garlic chunks in your marinade, expect them to either stay in the brush, or just get moved around a lot.
The heads can be removed (though not easily) to be cleaned a bit better, but make sure you rinse the brush well before you put them in the dishwasher, the silicone loves to hang onto things and make a film.
I would still recommend these brushes to people as they are good brushes. It just takes a few times to work out the quirks so they can be used with ease. They are also MUCH easier to clean and more sanitary than your normal bristle brushes.
