Review of Rosle Right-Handed Swivel Peeler

After being disappointed by medium price kitchen tools, I decided to purchase this peeler in order to sample the quality from Rösle before making a larger purchase. Although these tools carry a much higher price than some others I've looked at, I'm primarily concerned with quality so I felt they were worth investigating.

The quality of this tool is far better than any I have ever seen. The stainless steel finish is impeccable, the handle has a satin finish that hides fingerprints, and the business end is polished and is very easy to keep clean. The peeler blade is removable (via 2 small screws) and can therefore be sharpened, making this tool a good investment for a lifetime. The opposite side of the swivel peeler has a fixed point that is sharpened to allow removal of things such as potato eyes. It makes peeling a potato very simple, and allows you to take off a minimal amount of skin.

From my experience with this tool I've decided that Rösle is definitely the Mercedes (or BMW or Porsche) of kitchen equipment. Unfortunately it also carries German luxury car prices as well. If you are willing to spend the money, I don't think you can buy a better quality kitchen tool. I rated this item 4 stars only because of price.
