In all fairness, I didn't buy it to cook with but to scoop granular chlorine for my pool. I thought it would stand up well because of the enamel coating but chlorine is pretty caustic.It has rusted but I can still use it and it beats plastic scoops which always broke.
I'm sure it would do better if used for the purpose it was made for.
