After researching knives for a while, I chose this set.For the price, and all that you get, who could ask for anything more!The weight and balance of these knives is great.They are very sharp to start out with, and have maintained a nice edge.If you are looking for a great set that will not set you back $500-$1000 or more, this is the one.To be sure that any knife will work for you, go to a store and hold different makes and models.If the knife is not comfortable in your hands, you won't use it.As I said, these knives are great for me! My favorite is the 8" Chef's knife.Now to the negative...
The block takes up alot of counter space, so you may consider the 17 piece set if space is an issue.They are made in China, but they are forged from German high carbon no stain steel.The steak knives that come with the set are just okay, but the set is complete and I don't need anything else.
I would recomend these to anyone looking for a new cutlery set!Enjoy...
