Give the Wabash people a call.They will ask you when you bought the popper and they will register your product.Then they will send you a brand new lid no questions asked.They will continue to do this for the next 25 years.I wish the entire gear system was made of metal, but with impeccable customer service like Wabash provides, I can overlook that.As for the popper itself, the other reviews pretty much cover it.More fun and healthier than microwave popcorn and easier to store than a hot air job.I use 1/8 cup olive oil to 1/2 cup popcorn and don't even bother turning the gear until I hear the first kernel explode.I'm hoping this will save wear and tear for next time.I melt a tablespoon or two of butter over the top just 'cause I like the taste and add a little salt right in the kettle (be sure to use a potholder...it's hot!).Once the popcorn is gone, I fit the lid back on and stick it back under the cabinet.I don't even bother to wipe it out.Keeps it nice and seasoned!
