I researched the anodized aluminum till blue in the face. Did not have a lot to spend but figured anything was better then my worn t-fal. I have been so pleased with this. It's not HEAVY - nor light. Just right especially with my arthritis! I am a former chef and cook in a major way 6 nights a week. This cooks lovely - cleans up like a breeze and has ended my hate-affair with my three year old smooth cooktop which I could never get to heat up well with the t-fal.
