Review of Cuisinox Gourmet 8.2 quart Pasta Insert

I wish I had had this pasta insert years ago!No more trips to the sink with a heavy pot of pasta in hot water, no more scalding steam coming out as I pour the water in the sink.When the pasta is done, I just lift the insert out of the pot, hold it for a few seconds to let the water drain out, and then dump the pasta in a serving dish. Fits in my 8-quart stockpot but probably could be used in other sized pots as well.

Product Description
Use this pasta insert with our 8.2 quart stock pot (POTC24). Using this insert avoids having to use a colander in order to strain noodles. Restaurants often use this insert to avoid having to reheat water. Simply fill the insert with a fresh batch of pasta and insert it into the already boiling water from the first batch. The stock pot's cover will also fit on this steamer insert.

This universal steamer fits several pot sizes but works best with an 8-inch lid. Sturdy construction, durable high-quality finish.I use this steamer almost daily with hard anodized aluminum pots on a radiant electric range. Veggies come out crisp and tasty.

Great construction, but does not fit my 9.5" le creuset everyday pan.It is on the big side of 9 1/2 inches.

Simply insert this steamer into a 24 cm pot (POT324 or POT324H) and the boiling water in the receiving pot provides hot steam to the steamer above. Use the recieving pot's cover on the steamer above to seal in maximum heat. This steamer insert may also be used as a colander.

Review of Cuisinox 14.5 x 11 x 2.5 Inch Rectangular Roaster

This pan is made of fairly heavy gauge stainless steel, so it bends very little when hot.It's pretty big and deep to hold it's contents and resulting juices.It has convenient handles and a nice edge all around to tuck an aluminum foil covering.I prefer enamel pans for cooking and ease of cleaning, but this is an excellent value.It did come with one of those nuisance stickers on the bottom of the pan.You'll have to soak it in hot water or scrub it off with citrasolv or alcohol.
