Review of Chicago Cutlery Insignia Steel 2-Piece Knife Set

The santuko knife is the best knife I've ever owned. Of course this is because I cannot afford to spend $90 on a knife that I say this. If you want a good semi-precise knife set on a low budget this is pretty good. I do have to sharpen the santuko knife a lot but that is because I use it several times a day and sometimes on a glass cutting board. From what I understand that will dull a knife pretty quickly. Be careful,it's sharp, I've cut my fingers twice with this knife. The smaller knife is great for cutting open a bell pepper. Over all, I like this set. It's getting me though all the healthy home cooking I do. But I'll probably buy something a little higher quality in a couple of years.

Review of Chicago Cutlery Insignia Steel 8-Inch Chef's Knife

This Knife is all one piece, so bending and breaking isn't an issue.It has stayed sharp quite a bit longer then other knives we own.(I found this out the hard way by cutting myself)

I definitely recommend this high quality knife which seems to be more reasonably priced then many of the competing knives.

The blades are really sharp, a wonderful replacement for my old knives. Chicago Cutlery is quality cutlery. The only criticism, if there is one, is that the handles could have been sanded a little more.

Review of Chicago Cutlery 8-Piece Wine and Cheese Knife Set

This cheese knife set is great for the price. The knives are sharp and cut through cheese effortlessly. The wood handles have no finish, so they are a bit grainy, and light in color. However, some mineral oil treatment darkened the color and smoothed the texture.

The box and cutting board that came with the knives are a bit cheap, but for $15, who can complain?

I actually purchased the Chicago Cutlery set for my daughter who had a set of knives (serrated edges) that were never sharp and couldn't easily be sharpened.I was given Chicago Cutlery and the wooden block with sharpener as a gift and have been using them and sharpening them successfully for 18 years. They still look as good as new also.
